New York City — June 2006

The first meeting of the business cooperation program of the Foundation was held in New York City on June 4 and 5, 2006 at the headquarters of Citibank in New York City. On June 4, there was a dinner meeting for out-of- town visitors. About 40 attended the all-day session on June 5. The business session was followed by a reception. Among the participants were Muslims from Pakistan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia, plus two from the U.S. A number of the action steps referred to above were adopted. The Malaysian participants said they would like to see the next meeting of the program be held in Kuala Lumpur and they volunteered to play a key role. This is the genesis of the 2007 meeting in Kuala Lumpur.
