About Us
The Asian Programs Foundation seeks to create bridges among Muslim and non-Muslim communities in South and South East Asia and the West.
Our objective is to generate opportunities for cooperation that lead to tangible and mutual benefits which, in turn, promote understanding, peace, and respect among the communities.
The Foundation's programs begin by focusing on the business sector of society, a primary actor and catalyst for change. As the Foundation grows, it will enlarge its activities to include other sectors, such as education, health, media and sports.
The focus on business has brought leaders from Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and the Philippines together in New York City to meet with business leaders and other interested parties from the United States in June 2006. A second meeting was held in Washington, D.C. in December 2006 and a third meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur in June 2007.
The Foundation is non-partisan and non-governmental and to date all of its activities have been financed by private funds. Donations to the Foundation (a 501(c)(3) organization) are tax deductible in the United States to the full extent of the law.
